WHERE IT ALL BEGAN ?

In Morocco, a Caftan has been worn for centuries, and has held a yearning in the fashion industry and ultimately as a cultural status. The Caftan was first worn by royalty, and later spread to the public, where it has been exclusively worn by women in their quotidienne attire and as haute couture depending on the materials used.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN DRESSES?

Caftan in the Moroccan culture is known to be a one piece set. A Takchita is a two piece set, 'Tahtia' as the first layer, and 'Dfina' which is the upper piece of the Takchita. Both sets of attire have been worn in all events of Morocco. Caftan and Takchita are usually made of luxurious fabrics and ornate embellishments, which also became a way to communicate the wearer's status.
